Having an affair is always complicated. Worse, if the affair is with an ex-husband. Jane (Meryl Streep) becomes “the other woman” on her ex-husband current marriage. Being a decent woman throughout her life, and despite knowing that she’s doing something wrong, she actually feels good doing the unplanned revenge. The thing is, she has been divorced with Jake (Alec Baldwin) for about 10 years, they have 3 children who are still trying to cope with the divorce, and they have relationship with other persons.
The ordinary story becomes extraordinarily funny thanks to the great blend between Streep, Baldwin and Steve Martin. I thought it would be gross watching old people in love and make love, but it turns out the opposite. These Hollywood veterans are hilarious!
