3 IDIOTS (2009)

This is the movie which I keep playing every night for the last two weeks, a feel-good movie and a fun watch. I love every inch of it, even the cliche, surprisingly. I never thought I would love a Bollywood movie this much, not even with My Name is Khan. This movie blends satire, laughter, tragedy and happiness together, making the story humane and enlightening. Not to mention the excellent music with beautiful lyrics. The music stays in my ears for days and I once hoped I could really sing them! The movie is inspired, or adapted from a novel called “Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT!” written by Chetan Bhagat.

The official 3 Idiots synopsis:
Two friends embark on a quest for a lost buddy. On this journey they encounter a long forgotten bet, a wedding they must crash and a funeral that goes impossibly out of control. As they make their way through the perilous landscape, another journey begins: their inner journey through memory lane and the story of their friend–the irrepressible free- thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan), who in his unique way, touches and changes their lives.

My fave scene is easy to guess, since I am a mello-dramatic dreamer. The almost ending when Rancho met with Pia (Kareena Kapoor) in her bride’s gown and a helmet, when Farhan (Madhavan) threw  his shoe, and when Raju (Sharman Joshi) slapped Rancho in face – I love Aamir’s expression on this scene: surprised, happy and a little shock with the madness. They’re all so cute! Aamir is looking good in glasses by the way (that’s just my personal thought coming out loud hahaha…). And the wow scenery on the background really makes the whole madness even better. Oh my, I am putting Ladakh on my to-do-list now :)

There are some boring scenes too if I may add, like breaking into the director’s office and delivering birth at the ping-pong table. But they are forgivable and I could always skip them. They didn’t change the fact that this movie is fully entertaining and able to lighten my mood. The actor who played Silencer was also lovingly irritating. Kudos to Mr Vaidya. His role is so funny and believable, I feel like giving him a good punch because he resembles many people from my back-in-uni days hahaha…
