OMG! This is another movie that brings back awesome mixed feelings while watching it. Everything in it is beautiful! A perfect movie after soooo long! Hooray! Well, I almost hate it because it starts with darkness. Everything is in the dark and I have to adjust my pupil and it hurts. But then, after dark, let there be light. Not just ordinary light, but a spectacular fireworks.
Continuing the first movie, the Pevensies siblings are brought back to Narnia. Narnia has changed since they left it a year ago, or some 1300 years Narnia time. It was defeated by the Telmarines and the Narnians are now living underground. Telmarine itself is in turmoil because Lord Miraz has just gotten a son and he is after the throne. He wants Prince Caspian X, his own nephew, dead. Chased by the Telmarines and hated by the Narnians, Caspian X blew the magic horn that calls the High Kings and Queens of Narnia for rescue. This movie presents the shortest two and a half hour in my life, thanks to director Andrew Adamson. The book itself was great, but the movie is definitely a masterpiece. I love the characters, even the protagonists feel so powerful and real, yet, the movie manages to draw laughters from the audience. The visual effects are awesome especially with the animal characters, the ice wall with the queen in it, the war and the water. I don’t feel cheated like those add-ons on the first movie. I couldn’t find any flaws from this movie, even if it has, I don’t mind missing them.
My fave scenes are again the ice queen’s presence, the sword fighting between Peter and Lord Miraz, and the ending in Narnia land. All of the soundtracks are in perfect place, they really gave me goosebumps just by listening to them. The main casts are similar with the previous movie and they are still as superb as before, with Ben Barnes from Stardust (2008) as Caspian X. He’s sweet, sexy and a bit stubborn. And last but not the least, I so adore the costumes!
I have a long list of why everyone should definitely see this movie, but let me cut the crap short. I wanna re-watch it again and again and again.
My rating: 6/6
