EVAN ALMIGHTY (2007)

Posted by: REY. on: May 3, 2008

How do you change the world? God says, “Build an ark”.

God asked Evan (Steve Carrell) to build an ark and prepare for the big flood. The weather has been very dry and Evan has just recently been elected as the new congressman. It was as if God (Morgan Freeman) does not allow Evan to enjoy his success and mocks him to be fired instead. Every day, God reminds Evan of this request through everything he has: his alarm clock, his car plates, his phone extension, his hair… many things, until Evan gets the point that he needs to build the ark against all odds, against all sneers.

This movie is perfect for the family, it illustrates love, loyalty, hopes and faith. It reminds us about how God never leaves us and He is watching us. Whatever He does is because He loves us. It’s difficult to understand and it draws hardships.

Evan prayed so God help him with his new life, and God gives Evan the opportunity for that. God asks him to build an ark. Forget about sinister comments and boos, when God asks something He prepares everything, He makes the way.

So, how do we change the world? We start with an A-R-K.

My rating: 4/6

I’ve watched this and didn’t think I haven’t written one :) Good writing. This movie kinda reminds me of Bruce Almighty though. Still a good one to watch :)

if i am not mistaken, it is the sequel of bruce almighty. i kinda like it, although i admit it’s weird the flood didn’t ruin the city but keep flowing with such a great power through the river and stopped only at the congress building. :P
